WFISD look at options for TEA special education grant

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) –

The Texas Education Agency is on the search for organizations to help school districts strengthen special education.

WFISD Superintendent Michael Kuhrt said with close to 12 percent of their students with special needs they believe their special education program could use some help.

Following a federal investigation that showed the state of Texas had denied students with disabilities access to needed services, TEA has begun accepting applications for more than $20 millionĀ in grants to help districts like WFISD.
