CES Teacher of the Year helps special education students find success
Working as a paraprofessional with special needs children helped Eileen O’Donnell realize she wanted to be a teacher, and she accomplished that goal at the age of 47.
“After working with these children for several years, I wanted to be more involved in educating them,” O’Donnell said.
While she had not been to college after high school, with the encouragement of her family, friends and co-workers, she went to school part-time while raising her children and working full time.
She graduated with her special education degree from Coastal Carolina University six years ago.
