Special education cooperative in discussions to purchase shuttered Queen of Peace building

A south suburban special education cooperative is in negotiations to buy the former Queen of Peace High School building in Burbank, officials said.

The A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative, which provides special education services to students from 11 member districts in Stickney, Worth and Lyons townships, has been engaged in talks about purchasing the property from the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters since late fall, Frank Patrick, president of A.E.R.O.’s governing board, said.

The board voted unanimously on Nov. 20 to enter into negotiations to purchase the nearly 15-acre property, located at 7659 South Linder Ave. in Burbank, meeting minutes show.
